CO₂ Carboxy Therapy

A gel, a mask, nothing else. The reaction happens at the surface of the skin, for as long as the mask stays on. At Magic Room, this treatment is never booked on its own: it rounds off lipocavitation or radiofrequency.

A treatment that stays at the surface

At Magic Room, a Korean beauty studio in Paris 17 (Porte Maillot), CO₂ carboxytherapy is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment, from 120 €, by appointment.

CO₂ carboxytherapy as it is practised at Magic Room is a topical treatment. A gel is applied to the chosen area, then covered with a mask. On contact, the two components react with one another and release carbon dioxide at the surface of the skin. Everything happens there, on the visible layer. Nothing is introduced, nothing passes through the skin, nothing invasive takes place: it is laid on, left to work, then taken off.

The sensation is easy to recognise. A fine tingling, a coolness that rises slowly, sometimes the feeling of a light fizz beneath the mask. It settles, then fades while the mask is on. If it bothers you, the mask comes off within the minute.

This treatment does not stand alone on the menu, and that is deliberate. It comes second, after a technology has already worked the area, and closes the session. Two pairings are offered: Lipocavitation + CO₂ Carboxy Therapy — 120 €, and Radiofréquence + CO₂ Carboxy Therapy — 120 €. The choice is made at the consultation, according to the area and to what your skin will take that day.

CO₂ also features in a signature face treatment, alongside a peel and a mask. There too, it is never the only step of the appointment.

Who this treatment is for

Nothing is decided before we have seen you. These situations come up often, without standing in for the consultation at the start of the appointment.

  • Dull, tired skin that has lost its glow after a demanding stretch or at the end of winter.
  • An uneven skin texture, when the complexion looks clouded rather than marked.
  • Areas of the body already worked by lipocavitation or radiofrequency, to close the session gently.
  • Reactive skin, which prefers a gesture kept at the surface and an immediate return to the day.
How it unfolds in the treatment room

How it unfolds in the treatment room

  1. The conversation

The appointment opens with a moment of observation. Anne looks at the area, listens to your habits and to what you want from the session. The pairing is chosen then, not before. Appointment length: to be provided.

  2. The technology first

Lipocavitation or radiofrequency opens the session and works the area. Every step is announced before it is carried out.

  3. The gel, then the mask

The area is cleansed, the gel is applied, the mask is laid over it. The reaction makes itself felt within the first few seconds. You stay lying down, undisturbed. Mask time: to be provided.

  4. Taking the mask off

The mask is lifted, the skin wiped and then soothed. You get up in your own time. The skin may look a little pink; it finds its own tone again.

  5. The advice for afterwards

You leave with the upkeep steps to follow at home and the rhythm advised for what comes next. The following appointment is set with you.

What this treatment does not do

What this treatment does not do

Saying it in advance avoids misunderstandings, and it is more honest than letting you hope.

  • It cannot be booked on its own. It is a finishing step; it makes no sense without the technology that comes before it.
  • It does not stand in for medical advice. Anne is a beauty therapist, not a doctor: skin that worries you should be shown to a doctor first.
  • It does not change the structure of the skin. What happens here is surface work, on comfort and on appearance.
  • It promises neither a figure nor a length of time. What shows varies from one skin to another and is judged over time, not on the way out of the room.
  • It does not replace what you do at home. Cleansing in the evening, sun protection and sleep count as much as the treatment room.
  • It does not suit every situation. Some call for waiting, sometimes for going without: that is said at the consultation, plainly.

After the session

  • The skin may look slightly pink for a short while, then finds its own tone again.
  • You carry on with your day on leaving: nothing in particular needs to be planned.
  • Make-up can go back on during the day. Anne confirms this with you at the end of the session.
  • Sun protection is advised on exposed areas, as after any treatment.
  • The rhythm of sessions is decided with you, according to the area and the pairing chosen: to be provided.
  • Both pairings are booked through Treatwell. The studio is by appointment only, at 243 B boulevard Pereire, 75017 Paris, Porte Maillot.

Frequently asked questions

Does it hurt?

No. There is a fine tingling, a coolness, sometimes a light fizz beneath the mask. The sensation is sharp for the first few seconds, then softens while the mask is on. You can ask for the mask to be taken off at any moment.

Does anything pass through the skin?

No. The gel and the mask are laid on the skin, then taken off at the end. The reaction happens at the surface: it is a topical, non-invasive treatment.

Why can it not be booked on its own?

Because it was thought of as a finishing step. On the menu it comes after lipocavitation or radiofrequency, once the area has been worked. Booking it alone would mean keeping only the last stage of a protocol.

Can I wear make-up afterwards?

Yes, later the same day. The skin may be a little pink on leaving, until that settles. Anne confirms the right moment at the end of the session, according to what she sees on your skin.

How long does the session last, and how often should I come back?

Appointment length: to be provided. Advised rhythm: to be provided. Both are settled with you at the end of the appointment.

Are there any contraindications?

Some situations call for your doctor's opinion before any session: pregnancy, ongoing medical care, irritated or broken skin on the area. Mention it at the consultation. If in doubt, the appointment is postponed.
