Facial radiofrequency

A gentle warmth, laid on the skin, rising slowly and holding steady. The treatment stays at the surface and works the face alone: comfort first, then the look of the skin's texture and the feeling of firmness. Radiofrequency — 120 €.

Warmth that stays at the surface

At Magic Room, a Korean beauty studio in Paris 17 (Porte Maillot), facial radiofrequency is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment, from 120 €, by appointment.

Radiofrequency is a salon technology. A handpiece glides over the skin on a layer of contact gel and gives off a gentle warmth. The work stays at the surface: this is a topical, non-invasive treatment, from the first minute of the session to the last.

What you feel is the warmth. It builds slowly, pass after pass, and settles in. It never takes you by surprise: Anne brings it up gradually and keeps asking how you are doing. It feels rather like a warm stone moving across the skin.

The face is worked area by area, in slow, even movements: the forehead, the cheeks, the jawline. The handpiece never rests in one place. It is that continuous movement that makes the treatment comfortable.

On the studio's menu, this protocol stands on its own, under its own name: Radiofrequency — 120 €. Session length: to be provided.

Who this treatment is for

There is no set age and no set skin type. What points towards radiofrequency is more an expectation: warmth, comfort, and a face that looks more rested on the way out.

  • For skin that seems to have lost some of its firmness, when the outline of the face looks less drawn than it once did.
  • For anyone after a quiet treatment, with no particular preparation beforehand, who enjoys the feeling of warmth.
  • For complexions that look dull, in winter or after a tiring stretch, when the skin seems to have gone flat.
  • As upkeep, within something broader: radiofrequency sits easily alongside other treatments on the menu, chosen with Anne on the day of the appointment.
How the session unfolds

How the session unfolds

  1. The conversation

The appointment opens with a moment of looking. Anne studies your skin, listens to your habits and to what you expect from the session. Radiofrequency is confirmed there and then, or set aside for something else if the skin is asking for it that day.

  2. Preparation

Make-up comes off and the skin is cleansed. A contact gel is applied: cool as it goes on, it lets the handpiece glide without catching and spreads the warmth evenly.

  3. The passes

The handpiece travels area by area, in slow movements. The warmth rises step by step. Each move is announced before it is made, and you can say at any point what you are feeling: you set the measure, not the machine.

  4. The end of the treatment

The gel is taken off, the skin soothed, a moisturiser and a sun protection laid on. You leave with the everyday routine to keep up at home and, if you wish, the next appointment already booked.

What this treatment does not do

What this treatment does not do

Best said plainly: this is a salon treatment, and it has its limits. Knowing them is the surest way to enjoy it.

  • It is not a medical procedure. Anne is a beauty therapist. Nothing practised at the studio belongs to medicine, and nothing here stands in for a doctor's opinion.
  • It does not remake a face. What shifts is the look of things: the skin's texture, its glow, the feeling of firmness under the fingers.
  • It does not do the same thing for everyone, nor at the same pace. No two skins respond alike, and the studio promises no results.
  • It excuses nothing at home. Cleansing, moisturising and sun protection remain the groundwork: a session in the treatment room cannot make up for a routine that isn't there.
  • It does not replace the other protocols on the menu. Warmth works on comfort and on appearance; other treatments answer other expectations, and Anne says so when that is the case.
  • It does not suit every situation. Some call for a doctor's opinion before an appointment is even booked.

After the session

  • The skin may look a little flushed on the way out. That is the warmth, and it fades.
  • Make-up can go back on during the day. Anne tells you when, depending on what was done during the session.
  • Sun protection is the thing that counts most in the days that follow, winter and overcast skies included.
  • Avoid strong heat the same day: sauna, hammam, very hot baths. The skin has had its share.
  • The upkeep routine is given to you at the end of the appointment, along with the rhythm suggested from there.
  • Treatment length: to be provided.

Frequently asked questions

Is it painful?

No. Radiofrequency is not a painful treatment: it is warmth, and it comes up gradually. Anne raises it step by step and asks you regularly how you are doing. If it is too much, she brings it back down.

What does it feel like during the treatment?

The coolness of the gel as it goes on, then a warmth that moves about, carried by a handpiece gliding slowly. The movement is continuous, the pace slow. The session happens quietly, lying down.

How long does the session last?

to be provided. The appointment also takes in the conversation at the start and the advice at the end: allow yourself room rather than cutting it fine.

Can I put make-up on afterwards?

The skin may be a little flushed until the warmth settles. Make-up can go back on during the day, and Anne tells you when, depending on what was done. Sun protection first, in every case.

How often should I come back?

That is decided with Anne, at the end of the appointment, according to your skin and what you are hoping for. The studio does not name a number of sessions in advance: no one can know before seeing how the skin behaves.

Are there any contraindications?

Yes, as with any salon technology. Tell Anne about a pregnancy, any ongoing medical care, an implanted medical device, a lesion or an irritation on the area. These questions are put to you before anything begins. If in doubt, the answer belongs to your doctor: ask for their opinion before booking.
